Cake in Pan

Cake in Pan / No Oven Needed - Bruno Albouze - THE REAL DEAL

Cake in Pan w/ Pears Recipe (Gâteau Aux Poires a La poêle).

Serves 4.

2 ea. (100g) large eggs
1/2 cup (100g) fine caster sugar
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cup (120ml) milk
4 Tbsp (60g) unsalted butter, melted
0.7 cup (100g) all-purpose flour, sifted
1 tsp (5g) baking powder.

To Sauté
2 ea. pears such as Bartlett, Anjou or apples such as Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Honey Crisp.., peeled, cored and diced
1Tbsp (15g) unsalted butter
1 ea. vanilla bean, scrap out seeds or 1/2 tsp (1g) cinnamon
1 Tbsp (15g) honey.

Beat eggs with sugar and salt. Add milk and melted butter. Sift flour and baking powder together and mix in the eggs mixture.
In a 10 inch (25cm) hot nonstick pan, melt butter and sauté diced pears with vanilla and honey. Cook for about 10 minutes or until golden brown, on medium heat. Pour batter into the pan; do not stir up. Cover and cook for 15 minutes on low heat. Flip cake over and cook the other side for 5 minutes. Slide cake onto a plate, dust with some powered sugar is desired and serve warm. Enjoy!
